Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) executive director Cheryl Skribe is stepping down, the organization announced Tuesday.
Skribe will leave her post at the end of June, completing a tenure that began in 2014 when she was appointed executive director after serving as manager of the Re-Use-It Centre.
"Through Cheryl's leadership and dedication, WCSS has evolved into one of the most successful community-support(ed) charities in the province," the organization's board chair Christian Boone wrote in a release.
"The WCSS Board of Directors would like to wish Cheryl all the best in the future and thank her for her vision, creativity, and the commitment she brought to the charity."
The release listed some of the organization's significant highlights during Skribe's tenure, such as growing revenues and community support programs; establishing WCSS's recycling program; securing vital relationships and donor partnerships; as well as the planning and execution that has gone into WCSS's new building at Nesters, which remains under construction.
"Thanks to Cheryl's directorship, in addition to the strength of all staff members of the WCSS team, the organization is well positioned to build on her record of achievements," the release added.
The WCSS Board of Directors will start its search for a new executive director soon.
