Highlights from this year's GO Fest

Victoria Day weekend is always a party in Whistler.

Between the municipality’s Great Outdoors (GO) Festival, its impressive musical lineup and wide variety of activities, Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s opening day and closing day on Blackcomb Mountain, this year was no exception.

Last week, I put on a workshop about “How to Pack a Backpack” for GO Fest Whistler. I went through three scenarios: ultralite for running, regular day hiking, and overnight backpacking. In all three scenarios, the packing list is the same: just variations on the 10 essentials, but with different levels of comfort. Ask yourself: if something goes wrong today, am I prepared?
