A hands-on opportunity

LUNA is looking for a few good men (and women) who are interested in becoming community event coordinators.

In January, up to 16 people between the ages of 18 and 35 will be selected to take part in LUNA’s Community Event Coordination training, an eight-month program that includes in-class training with industry professionals and first-hand experience with event operations, planning, promoting and production.

LUNA is responsible for producing unique, affordable, alcohol-free events, like the summer LUNAFLIKS film series at Lost Lake, the Sea to Sky Battle of the Bands, and Drop-in Dodgeball.

In the past, Community Coordination trainees have produced events like the Harvest Art Fest, LUNA Dual Slalom, BMX-PO, the Volleyball Beach Party and the Drive-In Movie.

After completing the program, participants receive a Community Event Coordination certificate, which has been endorsed by the RCMP and the Resort Municipality of Whistler, a LUNA hoodie, and Spirit Pass eligibility.

Deadline for application is Dec. 12. Visit www.lunawhistler.com for application details.
