Whistler's Mayor Ken Melamed and Municipal Administrator Bill Barratt both had their car tires slashed Sunday night.
Council said it was a deliberate act of vandalism, and not a random act.
At Tuesday's meeting, Mayor Melamed, who said the issue was personal and emotional, gave the floor to Councillor Chris Quinlan to speak to the incident.
Quinlan did not mince his words: "This act seems to just completely defy any logic. There's no possibility that this is just a random act of vandalism. It is definitely, in the mind of myself and, discussed this morning, in the minds of council, targeted. And I find it to be a despicable display of cowardice.
"This is not acceptable for this community. We do not condone this and the people that are responsible for this, you should feel ashamed."
Barratt said today that not only were his car tires punctured but also his wife's and his neighbour Jim Kennedy.
"I just found it disturbing that somebody in our community would take that kind of action," said Barratt. "It's the same reason Vancouver's disgusted."
"And to do that kind of damage to an elected official who's doing what's in the best interests of the community...Like I said, disturbing."
Whistler police are looking into the matter.
RCMP Staff Sergeant Steve LeClair said: "We're currently investigating."
