Ali Milner jazzes up Juno Awards

Whistler’s own jazz songbird Ali Milner is stepping out onto the Juno red carpet Friday, March 30 in Saskatoon.

Milner, who was recently signed to EMI Canada with the release of her self-titled debut album earlier this winter, will be sharing her jazz croonings with masses and media alike at Canada’s music awards.

“Her manager Zack Werner, the Canadian Idol judge, has organized some sidebar showcase performances for her and has invited all the media types to hear her,” said Ted Milner, Ali’s father.

Werner signed Milner to his own record label, Venus Records, to produce her album. Already Milner is hard at work on new music with another album soon on its way.

The Whistler Secondary School student performs weekly at the Four Seasons’ Fifty Two 80 Bistro and Lounge.

This week’s Four Seasons performance will be shortened to one show on Thursday, March 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the lounge because of the Juno Awards.

It won’t be long before Milner steps up for an award herself, so check out the local talent before the rising star is swept away to national concert stages.
