All-candidates meeting tonight

Last chance to hear candidates speak before election

Whistler and Sea to Sky voters will get one last chance to meet the five candidates running in the West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky riding before the Jan. 23 general election.

Tonight (Jan. 19) the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, the Whistler Forum for Dialogue, the Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment, and OneWhistler are hosting an all-candidates meeting in the multi-purpose room at Whistler Secondary School, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Each candidate will get one minute to introduce themselves, and the presenting organizations will get 12 minutes each to ask questions of the candidate. For the second hour the question period will be opened up to the floor.

The Whistler polling station will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Telus Whistler Conference Centre on Jan. 23. All voters are reminded to bring valid identification, even if they have received voter information cards in the mail. Any Canadian citizen over the age of 18 is entitled to vote.
