All candidates meetings set for Sea to Sky

Voters, mark your calendars

Sea to Sky voters will have their chance to meet the candidates and ask questions in the run up to the 2011 general municipal election.

The date for the main forum for public debate in November's election has been set.

The Whistler Chamber of Commerce will hold its all candidates meeting on Monday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The event will take place at Millennium Place.

In addition to mayoral and council candidates, school board trustees will also be in attendance. The forum is designed as a moderated panel with prepared questions as well as questions from the audience.

In years past the Whistler Arts Council and the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA) have also held all candidates meetings.

The Arts Council will not be hosting a candidates meeting this year though representatives plan on working closely with the Chamber to address issues in the arts, while WORCA is still considering hosting a debate.

Squamish will host three all candidates meetings.

The Chamber of Commerce will hold its debate at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre on Monday, Nov. 7 from 7 p.m.

The Squamish Off Road Cycling Association (SORCA) will hold a candidates meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Sea to Sky Hotel starting at 7 p.m.

The Squamish Arts Council will host its candidates' meeting at its Cleveland Ave building at starting at 6:30 p.m. on Nov 2.

So far only one all candidates meeting is planned for Pemberton. It is being organized by the Chamber of Commerce and will be held at the Pemberton Community Centre Oct. 26 starting at 7 p.m.
