The Canadian Disabled Alpine Ski Team brought home 12 of Canadas 15 medals for the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, placing Canada fourth in the overall medal tallies.
The womens team, comprised of Karolina Wisniewska of Calgary and Victorias Lauren Woolstencroft combined to win seven of those medals.
Wisniewska, 25, won the bronze in both the downhill and super G, and the silver in the slalom and giant slalom. Woolstencroft, 20, won the bronze in the giant slalom, and gold in the super G and slalom.
Daniel Wesley of New Westminster won gold in the mens slalom, silver in the super G, and bronze in the downhill.
Chris Williamson of Scarborough, Ontario, along with guide Bill Harriott of Calgary, won the slalom gold for blind men.
Scott Patterson of Vancouver won the bronze the giant slalom for sitting men.
Whistlers Mark Ludbrook, the flag-bearer for the Canadian Team, earned three top-10 finishes; ninth in the downhill, ninth in the super-G, and eighth in the slalom.
Blind cross country skier Brian McKeever, 22, of Calgary won Canadas other three medals, aided by his brother Robin McKeever. He won silver in the long distance, and gold medals in both the middle distance and short distance races.
Members of the disabled ski team are currently in Kimberley, B.C. for the Canadian Championships.
