An Interactive Showdown At WSSF

Digital and graphic designers are not safe either at this year’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival. Creative techies will go head to head just like the ski and snowboard champs with the inclusion of an Interactive Showdown featuring Flash movie magic.

Digital and graphic designers are not safe either at this year’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival.

Creative techies will go head to head just like the ski and snowboard champs with the inclusion of an Interactive Showdown featuring Flash movie magic.

The new concept adds Web design and graphic animation to the increasingly popular multimedia side of the festival. Participants from around the world can now submit Flash movies focusing on action sports, music and mountain life. Designers will not only be able to showcase their talents but they’ll garner great exposure too. For every entry, the creator is acknowledged and hyper-linked.

The Flash movies will be showcased at www.livelarge.ca until April 20 and can be rated by online visitors. A team of judges will then look at the online scores and with their own expertise, choose a final winner to take the title of Grand Flash Master.

Entries must be created using Macromedia Flash (version 3, 4, 5 or MX) or Macromedia Shockwave. Presentations must be 500k or less and no longer than 20 seconds in length. Movie dimensions must be no larger than 320x240 pixels. All entries must be PG-rated and only one submission per person is allowed.

Entries should be submitted by April 10 together with credits and permissions for copyright materials to www.livelarge.ca/interactiveshowdown/

The winner will also receive a set of 2004 Salomon skis/bindings or Salomon board/bindings.
