Jasey-Jay Anderson of Mont Tremblant took the silver medal in the parallel giant slalom at the snowboard World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia on Monday.

The 27-year-old, a three-time overall world champion, has been consistently on or near the podium in recent weeks. He still trails in the overall rankings this season, but is currently third in the parallel slalom, third in the parallel giant slalom, and 11 th in the snowboard cross to rank third overall.

Putting those rankings together with a few strong finishes in snowboard cross could net him his fourth consecutive title.

At Maribor, he lost to Siegfried Grabner of Austria, who is currently ranked first in the overall rankings. With just over a month of regular World Cup competition left, it’s going to be close.

Daniel Biveson of Sweden edged out Dejan Kosir of Slovenia in the small final.

Jerome Sylvestre of Quebec also managed to crack the top-30 for Canada with a 29 th place finish.

Two Canadian women also cracked the top-20, with Whistler’s Alexa Loo in 17 th and Aimee Newton of Calgary in 19 th .

Meanwhile, at a Big Air competition in Munich, Germany, 21-year-old Neil Connolly of Ontario won the bronze medal with more than 10,000 fans looking on. It was his second World Cup medal in as many weeks.

"That was the best I could expect. After last week’s win, I’m feeling really confident in my jumps. I’m glad I landed the Cab 900 in the third run – that made all the difference in my placing today."

The result put Connolly in fourth place in the overall Big Air Standings.
