This past weekend the Whistler-Pemberton RMCP responded to 44 calls for service, as well as one noisy party and four bear calls. At regular vehicle stops two people were issued 24 hour driving suspensions for alcohol, and one 12 hour suspension for drugs.

At the same road checks the RCMP observed a vehicle attempting to avoid the RCMP, and pulled it over. The 23-year-old driver from Whistler was found to have been prohibited from driving. A further search incidental to his arrest revealed 116.6 grams of marijuana, 22.4 grams of cocaine and 22.2 grams of ecstasy. The vehicle was impounded and the male is currently facing changes of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The RCMP would also like to thank the person who called them about a highly intoxicated man about to get into his vehicle outside of the Pemberton Hotel. The caller distracted the Pemberton resident until police arrived, and the resident was arrested for being drunk in public.
