Carmody showing photos in Squamish

The Squamish Public Library is hosting a special exhibition by Brackendale-based photographer Susan Carmody on Thursday, Sept. 22.

The exhibition will have a special focus on child portraiture inspired by Carmody’s four-year-old daughter, including the ‘Age Of Innocence’ portrait (above) which appeared in the Professional Photographers Association of British Columbia’s 2004 Print Salon "Portrait Of A Child.’ The portrait was also featured on the cover of the association’s signature magazine ‘In Focus’.

A native Australian, Carmody currently resides in Brackendale. The Library show is her first signature exhibition.

The event will run from 7 to 10 p.m.

The reception will be a family-friendly affair with a large painted background piece for kids to draw on, Tazara-style.

A similar canvas from the first Art Of Tazara reception in 2003 is currently on display at Spring Creek Community School.

The reception runs from 2-6 p.m. n
