Weekly Art Room returning in October

The RMOW Parks and Recreation weekly drop-in sessions in the art room at Whistler Secondary School are starting up again in October.

The evening sessions are open to creative community members, both beginner and experienced. The room offers space to draw and paint, a pottery lab with wheels and printmaking facilities.

The drop-in sessions launched this past May, running weekly through July before breaking for the summer.

The upcoming season will offer The Art Room sessions weekly on Tuesdays, from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. starting Oct. 4 for a drop in fee of $8.50 with extra charges for clay.

In addition to the weekly drop in nights the RMOW is offering regular workshops and art classes out of Whistler Secondary. Upcoming events include beginner pottery wheel throwing with Barbara Hirano on Monday, Sept. 26 and Monday, Nov. 21, and a two-day intensive workshop on monotype printmaking taking place Nov. 12-13.
