Wild weekend in Squamish

Squamish is in for a wild weekend.

There will also be a special "stroll" down Cleveland Avenue featuring artisans and crafters.

At 5 p.m. the event will shift from the downtown site to the Women’s Centre parking lot. The evening will continue with a bonfire and more musical performances.

Slated to perform at Wild At Art are Brazilian Capoeira/cultural dance group Ache Brasil, and bands Mojo Zydeco and Gary Comeau & The Voodoo Allstars. The event also features local talents including Carolyn Grass, Cam Salay & Farmhouse, and the Jocelyn Pettit Trio with Leanne Lamour.

Children’s Chorus sings for spring

There’s something about spring that makes you want to sing.

Last weekend the Whistler Singers took to the stage at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.

This Friday night it’s the talented youngsters of the Whistler Children’s Chorus who will take their turn to raise their voices.

The Chorus, which is currently under the direction of Alison Hunter, will be joined by special guests The Pembertunes – a fellow kids choir based out of Signal Hill Elementary School in Pemberton – for a program titled Sing All Together Now.

The concert takes place Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. For more information, call 604-932-2979.
