Volunteers needed for Children’s Art Fest

The Whistler Arts Council is looking for volunteers for the 22 nd Annual Children’s Art Festival, set to take place May 29 and 30 at Myrtle Philip Community School.

The event needs assistants for workshops in kite making, wood and soapstone carving, T-shirt-making, stage fighting, magic, painting, photography and more.

Volunteers are also needed for set-up/takedown, publicity and registration.

A complete festival schedule will be released in the coming week.

Pre-registration for the festival will be held at Myrtle Philip school on Thursday, May 20, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Bizarre Bazaar calls for new crop of crafty folk

Who’s thinking about Christmas when summer hasn’t even started yet?

Artisans and craftmakers, that’s who.

Vendor applications for Bizarre Bazaar, Whistler’s annual Christmas-season arts and crafts fair are being accepted until Aug. 13.

The 16th annual Bazaar will extend over two days this year, beginning Friday, Dec. 3 and ending Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Telus Conference Centre.
