ArtsNow info session Monday at MY Place

An information session on ArtsNow funding takes place at MY Place on Monday, Jan. 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.

ArtsNow is the arts and culture division of LegaciesNow, a not-for-profit society charged with developing sustainable legacies for British Columbia as a result of hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralymic Winter Games.

The first phase of ArtsNow funding will invest $4.25 million through three separate programs: Creative Communities, Catalyst and Innovations. The deadline for applications for funding through the Catalyst and Innovations programs is Jan. 31. The deadline for Creative Communities applications is listed as "ongoing."

Funding is available to collectives and unincorporated groups as well as municipalities and non-arts groups planning partnerships with arts groups.

The information session is presented by the Sea to Sky corridor office of VANOC and the Whistler Arts Council, and will feature a presentation by ArtsNow director Lori Baxter.

The Whistler Arts Council is requesting those attending to RSVP by Friday, Jan. 7 by calling 604-938-9221 or e-mailing info@whistlerartscouncil.com.
