It was Pique's pleasure to team up with the Audain Art Museum for last weekend's Community Open House. Hundreds showed up to take in stunning works of art, get creative in the family studio and enjoy live music - all in one of Whistler's most beautiful spaces - without having to pay for admission.

Here are some of the highlights from their visits. Which post is your favourite?

While it is far from what I studied and sits outside of what I generally gravitate to, The Dance Screen (The Scream Too) (2010-2013) by James Hart is by one of my favourite works of art. I had the privilege to be with the Vancouver Art Gallery when their 4th floor was transform into an open studio for Hart to complete this work. Every few days it transformed and became something different until Hart and his apprentices fully brought this masterful work to life. Experience it at the Audain Art Museum and be reminded of the gifts from nature and the urgency is protecting her coastlines. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #jameshart #haida #mastercarver #indigenousart #firstnationsart #pnw #explorebc #myaudain
