Profile Questions:

What do you see as the top election issues?

Building a sustainable and diverse economy that will allow opportunities for work, life and play in our own healthy community. Bringing true accountability and transparency into our local government and ensuring our most significant community asset, the Oceanfront, will bring benefit for the whole community. Critically, ensuring that both investors and residents have confidence in the District and can expect due and equitable process. Having an inclusive culture with voices of the residents heard. Related issues are lack of transit, investment in our recreational and other infrastructure, affordable housing, preserving our natural landscape and biodiversity, homelessness and poverty.

What would you do to enhance the environment for business? Firstly, repair the District's reputation and restore investor confidence with a due and equitable process with arms-length guidance. Instill a culture of collaboration, welcome and energy towards economic development activities and have an external agency with a diverse board. Provide tax incentives, support business incubators, remove barriers to entry and simplify processes for business.

Give an example of a difficult situation you have overcome.

The cancellation of every piece of business in the books post September 2001 just as we ready to grow as a small business. We were fast and nimble, diversified and went after new markets and didn't balk at any contract to survive.
