The third annual Authors for Indies Day, which supports independent bookstores across Canada, brings four authors to Armchair Books in the Village.
Stephen Leacock Medal winner Susan Juby, Whistler Writers Festival founder Stella Harvey, Janie Chang and Sue Oakey-Baker will give readings through the day, be available to sign books and meet the public.

Con Brio Music Festival takes over Whistler with 2,600 students
The 18th annual Con Brio Music Festival brings 2,600 students, teachers and chaperones to Whistler from April 27 to 30.
The event is a non-competitive festival with band, orchestra and choral performances. The festival turns Whistler Village into a giant band, orchestra and choral camp culminating in a massed choir of over 400 singers, massed strings, and a massed band of over 1,200 instrumentalists.
Adjudication day for concert bands, choirs and orchestras, jazz bands and vocal jazz ensembles takes place throughout the day on Friday, April 27, continuing into Saturday, April 28.
The gala on Saturday evening has two performances and includes trombonist Christopher Bill, The Pacific Wind Ensemble and the vocal ensemble QuintEssence.
The Festival Massed Chorus and Festival Massed Band performs on Sunday Morning, April 30.
The public is welcome to watch the performances taking place at the Whistler Conference Centre, The Hilton, and the Maury Young Arts Centre.

Sea to Sky Singers plan Canada 150 Concerts
The Sea to Sky Singers is planning three concerts in May to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.
The first takes place at the Britannia Mine Concentrator Building, a national historic site, on Friday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. Advance Tickets are available at Concrete Blonde and Anna's Interiors in Squamish, or at the door. Please dress warmly.
The second is at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Whistler on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets available at the Whistler Museum or at the door.
Tickets are $15; 12 and under are free.
The final concert takes place at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Squamish on Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m. No advance tickets are available. Pay what you can at the door.
Poet's Pause winners named
Susan Alexander and Diana Joy are the two winners of this year's Poet's Pause competition.
Alexander won with her poem "Sword Ferns in Spring" with the competition's theme "listening." Joy won with "Be" for the theme "togetherness."
The poets read their poems at the Resort Municipality of Whistler council meeting on April 11 in celebration of National Poetry Month.
The poems will be displayed for a year at the Poet's Pause sculpture sites in Alta Lake Park.
They were selected from 53 poems sent in by 39 poets.
