A bike thief took police's bait this week and now faces several criminal charges.
Whistler RCMP has been deploying bait bikes around the community to combat bike theft, and this past weekend, the strategy paid off.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 9, a man took the bait, stealing a bike from the village. The RCMP's Regional General Investigation Section tracked the stolen bike to a home in East Vancouver. After obtaining a search warrant, police recovered the stolen bike along with several others and approximately $10,000 worth of stolen property.
Police Looking for suspects in connection with graffiti tags
The Whistler RCMP has released a photo of a pair of suspects believed to be connected to a recent spate of graffiti in the village and Creekside areas.
Police released a photo of the male and female believed to be associated with graffiti tag "Molotov."
This follows a late-June report of an individual who was seen tagging several signs and a utility box with black spray paint in Creekside.

Bike forks stolen from village store
Police are asking the public for help in tracking down a suspect connected with the theft of $1,000 worth of goods from a village bike shop.
The incident was reported on July 7, and included the theft of Fox brand X2 forks, police said.
