Barenaked Ladies booked for Whistler Olympic Plaza

Jason Mraz to perform on plaza stage August 5

The first acts for a concert series at Whistler Olympic Plaza are starting to trickle out.

Canadian favourites Barenaked Ladies, the artists behind the hits "One Week" and "If I Had a Million Dollars," have been booked for Sunday Aug. 21 to play a free concert at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Also booked are reggae-tinged singer-songwriter Jason Mraz and percussionist Toca Rivera, who will perform together on Friday, Aug. 5.

The acts come as part of the Whistler Presents Concert Series, which will take place over five weekends in August and September as part of the Resort Municipality of Whistler's Festivals, Events and Animation (FEA) program.

The final weekend of the concert series, September 9 through 11, coincides with the RBC GranFondo and is expected to provide a major celebration for an estimated 7,500 riders and spectators.

No other acts have been confirmed at this time.
