The next in a series of fireside chats hosted by the Vancouver Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation will provide an overview of the Olympic bid process.

Whistlerites are invited to join Terry Wright, general manager of bid development for the corporation, to learn more about the process in general at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in the Whistler Mountain Ski Club Cabin lounge.

Wright will also look ahead and discuss potential economic, social and environmental Olympic legacies for Whistler.

The task of preparing a bid, says the 2010 Corporation, is complex. Detailed plans must be produced for the International Olympic Committee that showcase how the host communities of Whistler and Vancouver intend to stage the Games.

Also to be considered are sports venues, transportation, sustainability, media facilities and accommodation.
