There’s something about guitar god Wil Mimnaugh that keeps reeling in the crowds time and time again.

While not exactly a regular face on the Whistler acoustic circuit – he does manage to pop in just often enough to keep the loyal fans satisfied – he breezes through every few months. Probably on his way to see his newly signed talent agency in Vancouver, S.L. Feldman and Associates, who are preparing Mr. Mimnaugh for life in the fast lane.

Like us, they’ve no doubt discovered this is one musician destined for and deserving of fame and fortune – a talented performer with hooks to rival Hendrix.

You’ll be fixated on his frenzied fingers and be euphoric from hearing all those obscure B-side cult classics from the best rockers in the business.

His originals are just as impressive and the Crab Shack is the perfect venue for Mimnaugh to try them out in.

Stories abound at the Shack of flying guitar strings ripped out mid-song. He’s done slide guitar on a bar full of bourbon and cokes and he’s drawn blood at some of his passionate performances.

The Crab Shack has been bringing Mimnaugh to Whistler since the oyster bar’s early days in ‘97 and crowds just can’t get enough of him.

A packed house is the norm when he’s here, probably because he puts on a phenomenal show every time.

He’s also one of the nicest guys in the business, happy to have a beer with his fans and a laugh with the ladies.

The show starts around 9 p.m., going as late as possible.
