Blush at Upper Vision Gallery

New art exhibition begins next week

The Upper Vision Gallery at BBK’s Pub unveils a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by Penticton artist Sarah Fahey next Thursday, Aug. 18.

The collection, titled ‘Blush,’ is comprised mainly of works inspired by musicians and live musical performances, Fahey said.

The self-taught artist said she has always been interested in the connection between art and music and has entertained the thought of taking her art on the road the way a band goes on tour.

"You see the painting when it’s done, but there are so many layers that go into it to get to that point. It’s like practicing a song before performing it," she added.

The funky collection will be on the walls as of Aug. 18 and will stay up for approximately one month. The pub will host a reception for the exhibition starting at 6 p.m. featuring music by DJ Select-R-Us and the artist painting live.

The Upper Vision Gallery makes use of the walls of the intimate pub for regularly changing exhibitions by up-and-coming visual artists.
