Spots are still open for the 25 th annual Bob Parsons Memorial Golf Tournament, which will be held at Big Sky Golf and Country Club on Sunday, May 15. Tickets are $115, which includes a round of golf with cart and dinner at the clubhouse with a silent auction and draw prizes.

If you don’t have a foursome, organizers will put you with a group.

Ice Show on Saturday

After months of planning and preparation, the Whistler Skating Club is hosting its biannual Ice Show this Saturday, May 14 with shows at Meadow Park Arena at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The theme of the event is Around the World on Ice: A Cultural Mosaic, and the show will feature 68 skaters, from the youngest three-year olds to provincial level competitors. Annie Bellmare, one of Canada’s top figure skaters, will also join the show as special guest, performing two routines.

The tickets are available at Meadow Park or through club members. Adults are $12 and children and seniors are $8 in advance, and $15 and $10 at the door.

The production includes more than 150 different costumes, unique sets, and 26 different performances.

Valley Trail Run

The 14 th annuyal 5K and 10K Whistler Valley Trail Run and Teddy Bear Trot will take place on Sunday, May 29 at 9 a.m. All runners and walkers are welcome to come out, and for parents free, professional child care is available through the Kids Drop Zone. You can register at the Mountain Adventure Centre in the Pan Pacific Lodge or by calling Dynamic Core Fitness at 604-938-9467. The race will start at 9 a.m.

Every Woman in the World Conference confirmed

The dates for the second annual Every Woman in the World Conference have been set for Aug. 12 to 14, with a full weekend of workshops including yoga, massage, belly dancing, go-go dancing, hip dancing, running, mountain biking, gymnastics, yamuna body rolling, pilates, drumming, reiki, painting and social events. This women’s only conference was created as an opportunity for women to experience different activities that promote health and wellness in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
