Need a picture book for your pre-school niece? How about a
murder mystery for an evening after a hard day’s work on the mountain?
Whether it’s children’s stories, adult romances, history or
cooking, Marketplace parking lot is the place to be for books this Saturday,
Oct. 7. A giant used book sale will be held outside IGA from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
with proceeds going to libraries of Spring Creek Elementary School and Whistler
Secondary School.
“Adults will find plenty of books to choose from for reading
during those dark winter nights,” organizer Jane Reid said in an e-mail.
Thousands of children’s books have been donated this year, including board
books, picture books, and chapter books.
In addition to fiction and non-fiction books there is a large selection of magazines for sale that cover home decorating, gardening, and sports.
