Boyfriend of missing Squamish teen charged with sex offences against other teen

Gavin Arnott charged with sexual interference and possession of child pornography

The 22-year-old ex-boyfriend and person of interest in the case of missing Squamish teen Jodi Henrickson has been charged with sexual interference and possession of child pornography. Gavin Arnott was allegedly caught with illicit photos of a 14-year-old on his cell phone and computer and arrested in early May for allegedly threatening her.

Although Arnott is still considered a person of interest in Henrickson's disappearance, an extensive search of the island - including of Arnott's father's property - hasn't turned up clues to her whereabouts. Henrickson called police to make an assault charge against Arnott a few months before her disappearance and Arnott was the last person to see the 17-year-old alive before she disappeared on Bowen Island in August of 2009.

Arnott will be in court Wednesday, May 18 on the charges of the sexual interference and child pornography charges.

Police are treating Henrickson's case as suspicious.
