They’ve performed with greats such as Bob Hope, Tony Bennett and Paul Anka. They’ve sung for U.S. presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush. They’ve even appeared on the Disney Channel and in commercials for Mazda and TWA — The All-American Boys Chorus has accomplished all of this even before most are old enough to get into a PG-13-rated movie.

The All-American Boys Chorus stops in Whistler on their Canadian tour of What A Wonderful World on Saturday, July 28 at 8 p.m. at MY Millennium Place.

“The Chorus has been described as outstanding, pure energy and simply wonderful,” said music director Wesley Martin. “We’ve also developed a strong reputation for theatricality — doing more than just standing there and singing.”

The Chorus’s shades have become an audience favourite for the California summer loving songs of The Beach Boys. Charm and charisma broaden the Chorus’s score.

The troupe will present a music menagerie of audience favourites from their 43 international tours.

The 40-voice ensemble of nine to 14-year-old boys will sing through a Best of Broadway selection, including Tonight from Westside Story, Circle of Life from The Lion King and Lida Rose from The Music Man. The lineup will round out with big band era swing songs, jazz standards, country-western hits and dynamic Dixieland melodies — and of course, the concert’s signature tune, What A Wonderful World.

For 36 years, from Richard Nixon to George Bush Junior, The All-American Boys Chorus has drawn standing ovations from all over the world; from Russia and Europe to China and Japan.

The Chorus has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and William Hall Master Chorale at the Hollywood Bowl. The Chorus produced five albums, the latest entitled, On Tour!

The non-profit organization, based out of Costa Mesa, California, has hosted more than 1,000 boys over the years. The group provides choral music training as well as leadership development.
