Brand Nubian border woes make for no-show

Garfinkel’s Nightclub and local concert organizers Mountain Promotions were forced to refund several hundred advance-purchased $15 tickets last Sunday evening after NYC hip-hop crew Brand Nubian was denied access at the Canada/U.S. border.

According to club manager Michael Hofbauer the reunited hip-hop artists – MCs Lord Jamar, Grand Puba and Sadat X – were travelling ahead of their manager who had the appropriate documentation to get them into Canada for the show.

Rather than wait at the border after being refused entry the crew did a 180 and proceeded to California, leaving the Whistler venue and show organizers high and dry.
