New B.C. Ministry of Education requirements this fall have made it easier for adult students to graduate from high school. In addition to having to take fewer courses to graduate, the education ministry is also providing funding for students, 19 and over, who want to obtain their B.C. high school diploma. For anyone thinking of returning to school as an adult student, the time to register is within the next two weeks. The Whistler Secondary Community Adult Learning Centre, now in its third year, offers high school credit courses for adults. The school operates out of the portable in front of Whistler Secondary. Hours of operation are Mondays and Fridays from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 9:30 p.m. The centre offers a full slate of credit courses. All are self-directed and teacher-assisted. One of the two teachers is always on hand to help students on an individual basis. They provide as little, or as much, help as wanted or needed To register or find out more about courses, call 905-4654.
