Contributors are experienced photographers and cinematographers who really ought to be doing the b-roll footage of mountain movies produced by Hollywood.
The young start-up offers clips of all kinds, including mountain landscapes, action sports, village activities and scenic timelapses - you know, those sped-up clips of a rising sun over the Coast Mountains that promotional videos use to show Whistler's natural beauty.
It works like this: you can submit a video clip - the company only chooses the best quality footage to exhibit the corridor's unique landscapes and adventurous terrain - or you can just buy from Whistler Stock Footage.
Buyers can choose from a variety of categories, wildlife, summer activities, Whistler Village, skiing and snowboarding or otherwise. All high-resolution clips can be downloaded as Photo-JPEG Quicktime files in their original resolution.
If you're a filmmaker or editor, you can then download those files for use in your own movies if you use video editing software such as Avid, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.

Who'll carry the torch for Pemberton?
The Pemberton and District Chamber of Commerce is wondering who'll carry a torch for Spud Valley in 2010.
The Olympic Flame will traverse the lush mountain valley on Feb. 6, 2010 at approximately 8 a.m., and the community needs more torchbearers.
Thus far the Spirit of B.C. Pemberton Committee has nominated three community members to carry the flame on its cross-Canada route: former chamber president Paul Selina, as well Jim McDonald and Heather Kelly. But Pemberton wants more of its handprints on that ever-burning flame.

For those afraid of the run, remember that it's only 300 metres between torchbearers - about the same distance it takes to walk from the Pemberton roundabout to the start of the Meadows.

Started in April by the husband-and-wife team of Bryce Anderson and Shauna Peachman, Whistler Landscaping is offering industry-certified and educated landscaping to the community. The company aims to offer an expert hands-on approach to your landscaping needs.
Anderson, a graduate of the University of Guelph, has an honours degree in Horticultural Science and Business and has 16 years in the horticulture industry, namely the industry and science of plant cultivation.
He also worked in the golf course maintenance industry for 16 years and most recently was the assistant superintendent at Nicklaus North Golf Course, a job that involved everything from day-to-day maintenance to running a crew of 20 staffers. He also worked for another local landscaping company last summer.
"So far this year we've been doing regular maintenance and cleanups and some smaller renovation projects," Anderson said of the work he's done with his new company. "We've got a few more renovation projects lined up for the summer and possibly some installation work."
