Local resident Karen Goodwin has been hired as Whistler-Blackcomb's destination sales manager. Goodwin brings 12 years of sales experience to the position.

Local resident Karen Goodwin has been hired as Whistler-Blackcomb's destination sales manager.

Goodwin brings 12 years of sales experience to the position.

"We are pleased to have found a manager with a proven track record," said Whistler-Blackcomb sales director Carlo Pocklington. "Karen will be a huge asset to our organization."

Goodwin has previously worked for Tourism Whistler, Whistler Chalets, Powder Resort Properties and Ski Can.

Yeates gets another appointment

Jim Yeates, chairman of Burntsand Inc., has been appointed to the B.C. Rail board of directors.

Yeates, a part-time Whistler resident, is a past president of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club and a past chairman of the board of directors of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team.

Yeates has been involved in the high-tech industry for the last 28 years and was appointed to the premier's technology council last month.

Prior to co-founding Burntsand in 1996, he headed Computer Innovations and Integrated Network Services Inc.
