Canadians win gold, silver, bronze at World Juniors

It wasn’t a sweep, but Canada’s three super-G medals at the Junior World Championship super G at Serre Chevalier, France, still looked pretty good.

In the men’s competition, Francois Bourque, who is 18 and a member of the national team, took the gold medal ahead of Sergeij Komarov of Russia and Austria’s Mario Scheiber.

In the women’s super-G, Brigitte Acton of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, collected the silver medal, followed closely by Kelly Vanderbeek of Kitchener, Ontario.

The junior world championships continue through the weekend.
