Car tires slashed at Mayor and Administrator’s homes

RCMP now investigating the file

Whistler's Mayor Ken Melamed and Municipal Administrator Bill Barratt both had their car tires slashed Sunday night.

Barratt said today that not only were his car tires punctured but also his wife's and his neighbour Jim Kennedy.

"I just found it disturbing that somebody in our community would take that kind of action," said Barratt. "It's the same reason Vancouver's disgusted."

"And to do that kind of damage to an elected official who's doing what's in the best interests of the community...Like I said, disturbing."

Whistler police are looking into the matter.

Said RCMP Staff Sergeant Steve LeClair: "We're currently investigating."
