Whistler residents can cast their vote in the 2008 General Election at the Westin Resort and Spa on Whistler Way.

In Squamish, the vote takes place at Brennan Park Recreation Centre on Centennial Way, and in Pemberton at the Pemberton Community Centre.

All polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

New this year, voters have three options for presenting identification.

The first option is one piece of identification issued by government or government agencies, such as a driver’s licence or provincial I.D. card, that includes your photo, name and current address.

The second option requires two pieces of identification. Both pieces must include your name and one must contain your current address. That includes identity cards like health cards, social insurance cards, birth certificates, driver’s licences, passports, and other forms of identification. Secondary pieces of identification include utility bills and bank statements, local property tax assessments, and other I.D. that verifies your current address. A complete list is available at www.elections.ca.

The third option is to be vouched for by an elector whose name appears on the list of electors in the same voting station, and has one or more forms of acceptable identification. Both individuals will be forced to make a sworn statement.
