CBC broadcasting from Chateau

Rick Cluff, Early Edition here on Monday, Jan. 30

With four years until the 2010 Olympics, CBC Radio’s Early Edition will be visiting Whistler Monday to check on preparations and community concerns.

Host Rick Cluff and the Early Edition crew will be broadcasting from the lobby of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Monday, Jan. 30 from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Whistler residents are invited to participate in the show and voice their thoughts during a public forum toward the end of the program.

Marion Lay, head of Legacies Now, will co-host the program with Cluff. Among the guests on the show will be Whistler Mayor Ken Melamed, MLA Joan McIntyre, Phil Chew of the B.C. Disabled Ski Team, and representatives from VANOC, Intrawest, AWARE and the Whistler Museum. A reporter will also be doing live interviews with skiers and boarders at the Roundhouse Lodge.

"It’s a chance for residents to talk about their concerns, changes that are coming and what they want to see," said the CBC’s Jennifer Chen.
