What: Winter Concert
Where: MY Place
When: Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
Winters more than coughs, colds and expensive power bills, yknow. Its also one of the most inspirational times for singers and songwriters to get into the spirit of the season.
In recognition of this, Millennium Place in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Whistler are holding their annual Winter Concert. Theyve asked The Whistler Singers and Moving Chords Youth Show Choir, to perform the snowy seasons best selections, which you can witness this Saturday for just $5.
The afternoon event will feature Whistlers own singing wonder, the 11 year-old Ali Milner, who is doing big things on Vancouvers choir circuit. Shell sing four songs to open.
Shell be joined by the Whistler Singers, under conductor Glenn Irvines direction. This collection of creative talent range from 20 to 65 years of age and seem to be a breeding ground for some of the best voices in the country. Ex-Whistler Singers members have gone on to major national choruses, including the award-winning musica intima.
Next in the lineup will be the Moving Chords Youth Show Choir, who combine simple actions and sign language with peaceful songs. They are a group of 45 kids aged from six to 11 and an absolute joy to watch.
Singing a mixture of traditional carols and other winter-vibe songs, the acts will come together at the end for one almighty jam-style close.
