While the Community Foundation of Whistler has been faced with the difficult task of cutting grants this year as a result of the financial crisis, the Whistler Youth Foundation grant program is now accepting applications for 2009.
Eligible projects must be youth oriented and have charitable status, or supported by an organization that is a registered charity.
The maximum grant per project is $500 and the deadline for applications is Jan. 30.

Past recipients of grants include the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation, the Whistler Chorus children’s choir, the Whistler Secondary School Drama Club, and the Pemberton Dragon Boat Team.
The funds are raised annually through the Whistler Valley Trail Run, which takes place on the May long weekend.
