Long-time Whistler health and youth advocate Lynn Ledgerwood was honoured Wednesday as Whistler’s Citizen of the Year. During this month’s chamber of commerce luncheon at Whistler Mountain’s Roundhouse, Ledgerwood received the award from last year’s recipient, Debbie Smythe. Another 19 previous winners of award were also on hand for the presentation. During her many years in Whistler Ledgerwood has volunteered her time for a number of community health and youth programs. She also works with her husband, Dr. Ernie Ledgerwood, in a family medical practice. Ledgerwood was nominated by public health nurse Marilyn McIvor, who noted that Ledgerwood "...is always on time. She’s never adopted the attitude of Whistler time." Among the past Citizen of the Year award winners at Wednesday’s luncheon were Harold Cullen, Al and Nancy Greene Raine, Vivian Jennings, Stan and Shirley Langtry, Heather Rondeau, Sonya McCarthy, Chris Shoup, Don and Isobel MacLaurin, Linda Marshall, Bob Brant and Paul Burrows.
