Stand up performer Blake Clark a veteran of stage, film and Vietnam

Who: Blake Clark

Where: Buffalo Bill’s

When: Sunday, Sept. 18, 9:30 p.m.

Tickets: $10/$15

Beefy U.S. comic, actor and military veteran Blake Clark is turning Buffalo Bill’s into a comedy club with a stand-up performance this Sunday night.

Clark has an extensive comedy pedigree that includes appearances on the holy trinity of late night TV talk shows – Letterman, Conan O’Brien and the Tonight Show – and several HBO Comedy Specials.

He is also an accomplished comic character actor with multiple film and TV appearances under his belt. Memorable recent film roles include the mumbling assistant coach Farmer Fran from the Adam Sandler goofball-football flick The Waterboy, and Drew Barrymore’s dad Marlin Whitmore in the romantic comedy 50 First Dates, which also starred Sandler.

TV junkies might remember him as "Harry the hardware guy" on Home Improvement and "Frank the chauffeur" on ’80s detective show Remington Steele, among several other recurring small-screen roles.

Prior to becoming an actor/comedian in the 1980s, the Georgia-born Clark served as an Infantry Platoon Leader in Vietnam. His military background and his career as an entertainer collided recently with several USO tour performances for the American forces in Iraq, including a December 2004 stint with John Elway, Robin Williams and model Lee Ann Tweeden.

He is known to integrate political and social commentary into his comedy with a good helping of material drawn from his Southern Georgia roots.

Tickets to see Blake Clark are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. For more information call the club at 604-932-6613.
