Community Futures conference coming to Whistler

More than 300 delegates will gather in Whistler Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 to participate in the 14 th annual conference of B.C. Community Futures Development Corporations.

More than 300 delegates will gather in Whistler Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 to participate in the 14 th annual conference of B.C. Community Futures Development Corporations.

The conference, entitled "Whistler while you work; the pursuit of excellence," is being held at the Delta Whistler Resort Hotel.

This year’s conference is the largest ever and will deliver participants to Whistler from B.C. and many other parts of Canada.

In the most recently completed fiscal year, Community Futures Development Corporations created more than 2,700 jobs, invested over $27 million and developed more than 230 long-term community economic development projects in B.C.

Conference organizers are also pleased to advise that National Revenue Minister The Honorable Martin Cauchon is scheduled to speak to the delegates during the conference.

As well, highly acclaimed economist Dr. David Bond will provide the keynote address.
