The event took place on a section of the Whistler Downhill Course in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park in preparation for the B.C. Downhill Championships on Sunday.
Adam Cook won his third race in a row in the pro category with a time of two minutes, 19.9 seconds. Tyler Morland was second in 2:23.1, and David Howse third in 2:24.2.
In the pro womens race, Brook Baker took the loonies with a time of 3:01.9. Angela Teng, who is on top of the standings, was second in 3:05.4 and Jenn Ashton was third in 3:07.2.
Only two junior men took part, with James McSkimming winning once again with a time of 2:49.9, which would have put him in the top-20 among the pro men. Mark Holmes was second in 6:06.0.
There are three more Phat Wednesdays on the calendar this season July 28, Aug. 11 and Aug. 25.
The Phat Wednesday races are open to all WORCA members and work like Loonie races riders pay $2 to enter and the money is divided among the top racers. Participants are also given free refreshments by sponsors at Whistler-Blackcomb.
