Five people were sent to the hospital, two with serious injuries, following a collision on Highway 99 at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.
The incident occurred in the Brandywine area and resulted in a full highway closure of more than three hours and partial closures lasting six hours while the RCMP investigated the scene.
The cause of the crash is still being determined by investigators, but three vehicles were involved. A black Jeep collided with a silver Mitsubishi and green Ford Escort.
The driver of the Jeep suffered a head injury in the crash, and a helicopter was landed on the highway to transport him to Vancouver General Hospital.
The front-seat passenger of the Mitsubishi was also seriously injured, and transported by ambulance to Squamish Hospital. Three passengers in the back seat of the Mitsubishi also suffered non-threatening injuries and were transported to the Whistler Health Care Centre.
The driver of the Mitsubishi and occupants of the Escort were not injured in the crash.
