If you’re really a morning
person, you should head down to Skier’s Plaza early Monday morning.
CTV’s Canada AM crew,
Beverly Thomson, Seamus O’Regan, Jeff Hutcheson and the hosts of the new Canada
AM Western edition, Mi-Jung Lee and Rena Heer, will be on hand from 3 a.m.
until 9 a.m. to launch celebrations for the two-year Olympic countdown week.
The Canada AM team plans to
highlight many of the people and stories of Whistler, by interviewing local
athletes, and organizations, such as the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the
2010 Winter Games, the Whistler Adaptive Ski Program, Tourism Whistler and
Whistler-Blackcomb.
The morning starts with a
pancake breakfast with the Whistler Rotary Club and music by Whistler locals,
followed by a performance by The Hairfarmers, a Whistler-Blackcomb Fire and Ice
Show, and yoga with Lululemon. Hosts will head up to the Roundhouse around 7:30
a.m. for Fresh Tracks, then back down to the Village to wrap up.
The Dubh Linn Gate and
Blacks Pub will be opened during the broadcast for warmth and goodies, and
crowd giveaways will be provided by local businesses like Behind the Grind, The
Core, and Ziptrek.
