In a commissioning ceremony that included Squamish Nation members, women used cedar boughs dipped in water to wipe a large wooden sign near the entrance to the Culliton Creek Hydro Facility at the big orange bridge on Highway 99 on Wednesday, May 25. The ritual rids the area of any negative thoughts. The facility will provide an annual output of 15 gigawatts of electricity per year, which is enough to power almost 6,000 homes.
