Re: “Be prepared for Preppers

The author claims to live in Whistler, but obviously wasn't living there in October 2003 when heavy rains and melting snow caused rivers to swell and wash out the road to Pemberton and Squamish. The two well stocked supermarkets in Pemberton where emptied within a few hours. Items like diapers, baby food, milk, etc had to be flow in by helicopter because people kept only a few days supply of such items. Meanwhile, as a silly prepper, I was high and dry and well stocked, and was listening to the chaos on the scanner and the local radio stations. It was at least a week before a temporary bridge was installed over the Rutherford river, allowing trucks to bring in larger quantities of supplies. I know of many that didn't see prepping in the same way after that incident.
