While three teams and a group of individual performers from the Whistler Dance Academy were in Banff this week, participating in the Western Canada Dance Championships, the academy was presenting prizes to the people who helped to pay the costs to get there.
In the raffle Scott McIvor won the 2002-2003 season’s pass donated by Whistler-Blackcomb. Laird Brown won the gift certificate for Hy’s Steakhouse. Mike Barry won the Whistler Air sightseeing tour. Clay – no last name given – won the free night at Blackcomb Lodge. Jody McGarry won the Oakley goggles. Christen Young won the Oakley backpack.
The funds raised from the raffle helped send a hip hop team, as well as jazz teams and solo performers to the championships on July 4 and 5.
