Dana Hayden is going to be very busy.

The president and CEO of B.C. Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), the crown company that operates BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, will continue in that job while overseeing the day-to-day operations at Destination BC.

Hayden will work with the Destination BC board to create the new Crown corporation's governance processes and oversee the end of Tourism BC as the staff and operations move to the new corporation on April 1.

Her resume includes a number of executive roles in the B.C. government, including deputy minister positions. She also once held the position of CEO in the Crown Agencies Secretariat and CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

Hayden was named one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women three times.

Andrea Shaw, the chair of the Destination BC board of directors, said in a release her board is going to search for a permanent leader while Hayden helps to get Destination BC established.

"We are undertaking a comprehensive process to find the right person for this important role," Shaw said in the release. "While we are undertaking our CEO search, we're grateful to have Dana Hayden's unparalleled expertise at the helm as we bring the industry-led, formula-funded Destination BC into being."
