Tourism Whistler and Visa have joined forces to raise money for young skiers.

Participating Whistler restaurants and spas are now offering prix fixe menus starting at $29 for restaurants and $75 or $100 at spas. A portion of the money raised through this special promotion will go towards the Whistler Mountain Ski Club, which represents the Sea to Sky corridor, and the Vancouver Ski and Snowboard Foundation, which supports alpine programs for more than 1,000 athletes in the Coastal Zone of B.C. Alpine.

"The Dine and Unwind program showcases the culinary diversity offered by Whistler’s award-winning restaurants, as well as treatments offered by Whistler’s eclectic array of spas," said Jill Greenwood, director of brand marketing for Tourism Whistler.

"Through the help of sponsors such as Visa, we offer excellent value, designed to attract both loyal patrons and new guests to experience Whistler’s relaxed pace in the late fall and early winter, as well as build business during this part of the year.

"Patrons visiting participating Whistler restaurants and spas are also getting the added bonus of supporting our future Olympians, especially in light of Whistler’s status as the venue for alpine and Nordic skiing during the 2010 Winter Games."

Araxi Restaurant, Edgewater Lodge, Kypriaki Norte, Jayde, Quattro @ Whistler, The Den at Nicklaus North, and Trattoria di Umberto will be offering prix fixe menus between $29 and $39. Participating spas include Esperenza Day Spa, Nibbana Healing Spa, Solarice Wellness Centre and Spa, Vida Wellness Spa and Farfalla Hair and Body Spa.

You can book reservations through the restaurants and spas, or read more about the Dine and Unwind program at www.mywhistler.com/hotdeals/.

The promotion continues to Dec. 10.
