dog portraits

Pooch portraits help grads Whistler's high school graduates aren't going to the dogs, except to say "thanks" for money raised from pooch photo portraits. The first ever Dog Day Parade this Sunday, April 12, during the World Ski & Snowboard Festival, has an added twist to help this year's grads celebrate their permanent release from high school. From noon to 3 p.m., Coast Mountain Photographers, Whistler One-hour Fotosource and Freestyle Framing have joined forces to take portraits of your favourite hound. Coast Mountain snaps the pix, Whistler One-hour prints 'em up and Freestyle Framing provides a matte background for each shot. All you have to do is make a donation, all of which goes to the Graduating Class of 1998. Rain or shine (look for the tent) the portraits will be taken at Marketplace behind Grabbajabba and Blenz coffee shops. The Dog Parade starts at 4:30 p.m. at Town Plaza and ends at the festival main stage in Village Square.
